Information That Would Have Been Helpful 18 Months Ago
Paul Bremer, GFY:
The former U.S. civilian administrator in Iraq says the United States "paid a big price" for not having enough troops on the ground after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein's regime.
Still, Bremer added, ousting Saddam was "the right thing to do."
Great, grand, thanks a lot!

As much as this headline will help strengthen the case that Bush & Co. have mangled the Iraq endeavor from the get go, are we expected to swallow Monday morning quarterbacking from the Sunday afternoon quarterback (or at least the offensive coordinator)?

Or was he silenced because dissent is not tolerated and raising a voice would have gone against Rummy's brilliant gameplan of fighting a war and occupying a country on the cheap? Either way, it underscores the notion that the present regime has to go.
